Anxiety Sucks. Weed Doesn't.

IMG_0038.jpg

It’s June and it’s been a YEAR. With all the insanity, one thing is certain—we could all use something to take the edge off.

This month, we’re highlighting our favorite products to help you relax, talk to experts about the effects of cannabis on anxiety, and, finally, we’re sharing some recipes for you to make at home. From drinks that will help you survive your morning commute, to clarifying exactly what CBD does (no, it’s not a cure-all; yes, it does some incredible things), we’ll help you get through whatever trashfire news cycle is being served that day.

Till then, nice things come to those who aren’t trashcans. Say something niceabout a friend on our insta and you’ll win something special for two.

Thanks for being nice.

The FDA has finally approved a cannabis based drug. Epidiolex is a CBD isolate that helps with debilitating forms of child epilepsy including Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome.

But, don't think this means the FDA is down with cannabis. Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the FDA Commissioner clarified that “this is an important medical advance, but it’s also important to note that this is not an approval of marijuana or all of its components. This is the approval of one specific CBD medication for a specific use.”

Now the DEA has to catch up. Epidiolex has to be rescheduled from its current Schedule I before it's available to patients which could take up to 90 days. — source NBC

Oh, and Arkansas is the latest state to legalize medically, bravo.

Canada is set to be the cannabis travel destination come October 17, 2018. Quebec, and, Montreal in particular is taking cannabis a step further. Known for its gastronomy, loyalty to the french language (but not Parisians), and ability to attract tourists in droves, they may have another feather added to the cap with 420 tours. Yes, that means you get toured around on a weed-friendly bus stopping to taste some of the city's best restaurants. One company has even partnered with Airbnb to help you find the most friendly 420 apartments. Très chic mon chum.

"Women like me aren't supposed to run for office" narrates Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in her campaign video for New York's 14th district. In a stunning upset Ocasio-Cortez won her primary, and if one thing is real it's this: more women like her should be running for office. In a historic win she ousted 10 term incumbent Joe Crowley and won against all odds. Here's hoping our main Miranda wins this September.

Envisioning Cynthia Nixon and Ocasio-Cortez in Washington kicking ass and taking names helps cool the burning rage from both Supreme Court decisions yesterday.
